The Honest Liar Podcast cover: Franco Cabral facing his reflection in a mirror
The Honest Liar

The Honest Liar is my podcast about the stories we tell ourselves.

Season 2 centers on the more sophisticated hidden lies high performers don't see, and the operating stories running underneath their results.

You Can't Do Everything at the Same Time

Sometimes I don't need more clarity. I need to choose, and face what choosing brings up. In this episode, you'll sit in on a real Hot Seat with Raquel Cid. She brings a vision for supporting mothers, a growing list of ideas, and the overwhelm of trying to move them all forward. As we get curious, the conversation shifts from finding more structure to choosing one meaningful target. That choice brings other stories into view: fear of rejection, discomfort around pricing, people-pleasing, and the worry that someone will think she's copying them. I share why committing to a bigger vision can take us into the valley before we begin to climb, and why clarity doesn't always make the next step feel comfortable. What is the one thing you already know you want but haven't fully chosen because choosing it would require you to say no to something else? The Moments I Couldn't See

Sometimes, the clearest evidence of how far we've come only becomes visible when life brings us back to where we began. During a leadership experience, I found myself standing in a cemetery, in a moment that mirrored one from years earlier. But this time, something was different. I wasn't the same man who had stood there before. In this episode of The Honest Liar, I reflect on the transformation we often fail to recognize while we're living it, the people who help us see what we cannot see ourselves, and what it really means to build a life of purpose and legacy. We spend so much time looking at how far we still have to go that we sometimes forget to recognize how far we've already come. Here's the question I invite you to get curious about: What might you not be able to see about who you've become because you're too close to your own journey? When Is the Right Time?

What if waiting for the right time is the very thing keeping you from becoming who you want to be? We tell ourselves we'll begin when we're ready. When we have more clarity, more confidence, more time, or when the circumstances finally feel right. But sometimes, what looks like patience or preparation is actually fear hiding behind a convincing story. In Season 2, Episode 2 of The Honest Liar Podcast, Franco Cabral reflects on his own experience of starting again, confronting perfectionism, self-judgment, and the discomfort of stepping back into something he already knows how to do. Through personal reflection, he explores how even years of growth don't eliminate the stories that keep us waiting. In this episode, we explore: The hidden lie behind waiting for the perfect moment Why experience doesn't eliminate the discomfort of starting again How perfectionism and internal judgment can disguise themselves as preparation The difference between knowing how to do something and being in the practice of doing it What becomes possible when we stop waiting and begin A question to sit with: What have you made "being ready" mean that's keeping you from beginning? The Honest Liar Podcast is a space where we get curious about the lies we cannot always see, the truths we're still learning to live, and what becomes possible when we bring it all into the light. New Origins: The Lie Got Smarter

Six years ago, I launched The Honest Liar Podcast with a simple mission: stop lying, tell the truth, and start living with greater honesty and integrity. What I didn't realize then was that some of the most powerful lies aren't the ones we knowingly tell. They're the stories we believe so deeply that we don't even recognize them as lies. When I recorded my original Origins episode, I was sitting in my wife's walk-in closet, afraid of being judged. That 15-minute recording took me nearly 12 hours to finish. Six years later, after years of personal growth, leadership, marriage, fatherhood, and coaching, I discovered something uncomfortable. The same story that nearly stopped me from starting this podcast was still there. It had simply gotten smarter. In this first episode of Season 2, I share why I'm bringing The Honest Liar back, how I nearly delayed my next chapter by convincing myself I needed to write a book first, and what that experience revealed about the stories we unknowingly allow to shape our lives. This season, we're going deeper. Beyond the lies we tell into the lies we can't yet see. Because sometimes the greatest breakthrough doesn't come from finding a better answer. It comes from getting curious enough to question what we believe is already true. A question to sit with: What story might you be believing today that's keeping you from the life you actually want to create? If this episode brought something into the light for you, share it with someone who needs to hear it.
