You are somewhere. There is somewhere you want to be. Between them is ground you have to cross.
Most tools are built so you stop forgetting things. Align is built for a different failure: working hard all year and arriving somewhere you never chose.
Being busy and being on course are not the same problem, and they do not have the same fix.

A ladder, not a list
A list can be finished. A direction can only be kept.
You cannot start in the middle. If you have not said where you are going, there is nothing for this month to be a step toward. That is why the ladder is a sequence and not a menu.
The fall, and Base Camp
What waits at the bottom of the fall is not a new problem. It is the pattern that had been running quietly the whole time.
Base Camp is not the start of the journey. It is the end of the first one: the honest place after the fall where you can finally see.
The deepest dark is where the greatest light is found.
The terrain
The drop that ends the first journey.
The honest position everything else is measured from.
Four ninety-day ascents make the year.
Nothing in the terrain moved. Only the position of the viewer changed.
The star, the peak, the floor
Divine Vision is a star, not a destination. You do not arrive at a star, you steer by one. A peak is a ninety-day ascent, close enough to see and far enough to change you.
The valley after each summit reveals the next layer, and the valley floor rises: a hard week this quarter sits higher than an average week last quarter.
Want and need
Need pushes from pain. Want pulls from the North Star. Both move you, but only one keeps moving you once the pain stops.
A life built only on need is a life that stops improving the moment it stops hurting.
The system
Temple is peace taking form. Kingdom is love taking form. Wealth is joy taking form. All three are generated from Source at the center.
A peak climbed on the back of a collapsing domain is not alignment. It is a trade, and the bill comes later.
Why three? A triangle is the first shape that holds. A life built on one thing is a line.
The ladder
There are three ladders, one per domain. They meet in the week.
- 00Base CampThe honest place you are actually standing.
- 01Divine VisionThe star you steer by. You do not arrive at it.
- 02Yearly TargetThe direction the year is being spent on.
- 03Quarterly TargetA ninety-day ascent with a summit you can see.
- 04Monthly MissionThe part of the climb this month is responsible for.
- 05WeeklyWhere the three ladders meet and get scheduled.
- 06Daily FireWhat today has to be, for the week to hold.
BE LIGHT
BE LIGHT is the framework that guides how I live, lead, and show up as a husband, father, entrepreneur, and leader.
It begins at home. These are the core values my family and I live by to guide how we treat one another, navigate difficult moments, grow together, and stay connected to God.
For me, being light isn't about being perfect. It's about recognizing when I'm aligned with who I am, being honest when I'm not, and choosing my way back.
- BBe Curious
We try to understand before we judge or react. Curiosity helps us stay open, ask questions, and learn about ourselves and each other.

For me, curiosity means resisting the temptation to assume I already know. With my wife, my children, myself, and the people I lead, I ask before I judge and seek to understand before I react. Curiosity creates room for connection where certainty can sometimes create distance.
- EExample
We live what we say. We lead by how we act, showing honesty, authenticity, and responsibility through our choices — not just our words.

My children will learn far more from the life they watch me live than from anything I tell them. The same is true in leadership. I don't teach principles that disappear when they're inconvenient. I embody what I ask of others.
- LLove
We treat each other with kindness and compassion, creating safety and connection.

Love is more than something I feel. It's something I practice. In our family, that means creating a home where we can tell the truth, experience difficult emotions, disagree, repair, laugh, and still know that our connection is secure.
- IInward Reflection
We pause and look inside before reacting so we can respond from light, not dark. We seek stillness and reflect daily to be guided by who we are today.

Leadership begins inward. Before blaming circumstances or another person, I examine what's happening inside of me. Stillness, meditation, reflection, and asking “Who am I today?” allow me to consciously choose how I enter my marriage, fatherhood, work, and life.
- GGrowth
We choose to learn, try, and get better instead of staying the same.

Growth means we aren't imprisoned by who we've been. In our family, mistakes and challenges become opportunities to learn. My children see that becoming better doesn't require perfection. It requires the courage and humility to keep learning.
- HHonor
We honor ourselves and others by telling the truth, doing the right thing — even when nobody is watching — and when we realize we're out of honor, we take responsibility and make it right.
Read what this means for meHide
Honor isn't never getting it wrong. It's what we do when we recognize that we have. For me, that means telling the truth, keeping my word, taking ownership without excuses, and repairing what I've damaged. Character is revealed both by what we do when nobody is watching and by how we respond after we've fallen short.
- TThe Source
We stay connected to God, trusting Him as our source of strength, wisdom, and guidance.

This is the foundation underneath everything else. I am not the ultimate source of my own strength or wisdom. My relationship with God reminds me that leadership isn't simply about controlling outcomes. It's about listening, trusting, surrendering, and allowing myself to be guided.
Why BE LIGHT
BE LIGHT isn't just a framework I teach.
It's the standard we live inside our own home.
My wife and children experience whether these ideas are real long before anyone in an audience, a coaching room, or a business ever does.
That matters to me.
Because if what I teach about leadership, alignment, connection, honor, and growth doesn't work around my own dinner table, it doesn't belong on a stage.
And when I fall short of these values—and I do—the framework doesn't require me to pretend otherwise.
It gives me a path back into alignment.
Not perfection. Re-alignment.
The Align Guide
A framework for building success without sacrificing the life that success was supposed to serve.
Paths forward
Align runs day to day in Pathfinder, the app from Project Light, which I co-founded.
